What is Shan Koe Mee?
Shan Koe Mee is a traditional Myanmar card game that's popular at family gatherings, festivals, and get-togethers with friends. Between 2 and 6 players can join a table, so it's easy for anyone to jump in. At uuu888, Myanmar players can enjoy this game anytime on their phone, tablet, or computer.
The game uses three 52-card decks combined together. Players draw 5 cards and add up the face values of their cards. When the total goes over 30, one card is discarded and play continues. The player who manages their cards best holds the top spot at the table. Behind its simple rules lies a game of both strategy and luck — which is why it has stayed popular across Myanmar for so many years.
Game Rules and Basic Principles
Decks and Card Values
Three decks (156 cards total) are shuffled together and each player is dealt 5 cards. Number cards 2–10 are worth their face value, J, Q, and K are worth 10 points each, and A is worth 1 point.
Over-30 Bust Rule
If your card total goes over 30, one card is discarded and you continue playing. Players must decide when to stop drawing, keeping their total between 1 and 30.
Determining the Winner
When players stop drawing, card totals are compared. The player with the highest total that does not exceed 30 wins. If there is a tie, the hand is replayed.
Card Types
Flush (3 cards of the same suit) — pays 3x. Straight Flush (3 consecutive cards of the same suit) — pays 5x. Three of a Kind — pays 5x. These hand types only apply when the total is 30 or under.

Strategy and Tips to Win
Shan Koe Mee is a mix of luck and strategy, so sharpening your skills can lead to better results at the table. The tips below are strategies that experienced players use often—
Consider stopping when your card total is between 23 and 27
Experienced players tend to stop drawing between a total of 23 and 27, which lowers the risk of going bust (over 30).
Check the suits before you decide
If there is a chance your cards could form a Flush, factor that into your decision to keep drawing — and don't forget that Flush hands pay more.
Keep your bet size consistent
Rather than placing one large bet in a single round, betting a consistent amount lets you play longer and get more out of each session.
Pay attention to the cards that have already been played
Since the game uses 3 decks shuffled together, keeping track of which cards have come out helps you estimate what remains and make better strategic decisions.
